Day 2, 3 and 4 (otherwise known as the place the devil lives)

So here it is Thursday morning and I have completed 4 days of boot camp! YIPPEE!! Accomplished? Not yet. Still have some work to do.

Well, back tracking to Day 2 (where my blog got deleted due to Internet outages). Before class on day 2 I had Matt take some "before" pictures of me. I will get the ones I deem appropriate and post them (if you know what I mean). I remember asking on day one if we would be running a mile everyday and SPECIFICALLY remember the answer being NO. What I guess I should have asked was if we were going to be running a mile "tomorrow".

On day two we started out with full blast stretching and exercises, ran 1/2 miles, more full blast and then another half mile. After that we ended with full blast stretching. I am not kidding. The first 10 to 15 mins of this boot camp is what i would get at the PEAK time at kick boxing in the gym. IT IS INTENSE.

Oh, randomly, I saw this girl that I did a bible study with, Karolyn, running around the park. I wanted to yell and say hi, but then I didn't what her to think "Gosh, I am out running on my own and she needs boot camp to help her." haha. SHE WOULD NEVER THINK SUCH A THING. She was really just too far away anyway, so it didn't matter.

(man my blog that got deleted was Soooo much better)

I couldn't move on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. I literally had to use my arms to hoist me onto the toilet, in and out of the car and up and down from my seat at work. By about mid-day yesterday I was doing better. I can honestly say, I haven't been that sore since high school. But I have to remember "No pain, no gain". IT IS ALL WORTH SOMETHING!!

So yesterday at boot camp (day 3), I went to the 6:30 pm class as usual. I was actually pretty nervous bc of how sore I was, but I worked it out and wasn't sore really at all after class. Yeah, a few aches and pains, but not unbearably sore, thankfully. Class was intense though. Lots of cardio. We started out with our full blast stretching and exercise and Brian (the trainer) said go run two quick laps......WHAT QUICK?? Mind you two laps is half a mile. So quick to me on half a mile is like 4.5 mins....NOT THAT QUICK. But I did it...no walking pushed myself as hard as I could.

Then we did a bunch of what I would call football drills, basically running through tires quickly (not tires though, something similar), running from cone to cone, back peddling, side shuffles and bear crawling. hahaha.. It was great, my big ole butt sky high in the air. Plus after those exercises we did sprints. So I was cardioed out, or so I thought until he had us do one more lap. Not bad. I DID IT!!

At then end of class I was chatting with two girls in class, one newbie like me (Humtan) and a returner (Mary). It was very encouraging because Mary said that class was the hardest class that she had every been too. And I was thinking, WOW...if this is the hardest class every, I am doing A.OK!

That brings us to DAY 4 (today). I had to go to the AM class bc I am having dinner with Louise (work friend who is town from Indianapolis). I got up at 5am (YUCK!!) to be at boot camp at 5:30am!! I refuse to miss though. We were actually at a different location and I had drive a bit further, not too much further but not as close for sure. We were at Johnny Carson Park which is near Griffith Park. Some of you might remember that park as being the one that caught on fire last year near the zoo and the zoo had to evacuate. Anyway, really pretty. Behind us is the infamous LA River and this beautiful Mansion looking home. I actually think the home is a funeral home; Old Victorian style house. I enjoyed looking at during my workout!

I am not sure if this was "easier" bc I was half asleep or I am just getting used to it. The push ups are still killer. I am terrible, but improving. The trainer told the class before we even started, we are going to do a bit more running today. I am thinking to myself, "GOSH, I sure picked a good morning to come to AM boot camp." After the usual stretching and warm ups, she says we are running for ten mins in one direction as long as we can go. Then at ten minutes turn around and run back." CRAZY, so 20 mins. I did great!! I ran the WHOLE time. I only had to run in place once to wait for a light.

I just calculated it, my 10 mins was .85 miles there (and obviously back), just right at 1.7 miles round trip! Not bad at all, for a beginner, I should add. Here is the link to the route we ran http://www.geodistance.com/?id=23107.

Well, now I technically have two days off!! The rest of the day Thursday and Friday until 6:30pm! I hope I don't go too soft. Hopefully this weekend I will get those pictures up.

Also, I am going to try to blog on the diet thing since we are recording everything we eat and drink.
